Academic performance on the other hand is being described as that behaviour exhibited by an individual that is notable after undergoing a programme of instruction. It is also established that the academic performance can be affected by the type of family which the child comes from. The socioeconomic status of polygamy is always low and it feature large family size, it is difficult to pay attention to all the children in the family because of the large size. Marital status of the home also plays a vital role in the academic performance of the child, in most polygamy family there is poor relationship between the parents, rivalry among the wives, at times the man love one wife more than others, therefore pay attention to the children of the loved wife while other children suffer neglect from the father, this unhealthy relationship also affect the academic performance of the child.
